Since I can remember, I have been obsessed with photographs. Dragging out the big box of family photos, picking them out one by one and begging anyone in my family who could tell me the story behind each image. I would find sepia portraits of stoic strangers in funny hats and corseted clothing jumbled in with Polaroid's of bee-hived aunts wearing wild floral dresses and cat-eyeglasses.
Each photo would spark my imagination to consider that moment in time. Who are these people? What did they do? What did they dream about? Why is my dad wearing his tie around his head? At a time when TV pretty much ruled my life, I would have forfeited watching "I Dream of Jeanie" for a night of digging through the box of photos with my sister.
The power of imagery continues to intrigue me today. It challenges me to constantly look at the world around me, as if seeing it for the first time. It drives me in my quest to capture subject matter that resonates deep within me and hopefully in others. It dares me to share my observations in visually thought provoking ways worthy of an audience's attention. Here are some of those observations.
